This is now you do it Deblocking: Turn the knob anticlockwise until the stop is reached (Figure 1) Then set the required torque by turning the handle. The scale divisions on the scale ring must align with the scale centre line from 42 Nm - 210 Nm on the torque wrench. The scale has a pitch of 1 - 14 Nm (0-14). (Figure 2). The Nm divisions on the torque wrench also increase by 14 Nm each. (Figure 3). Any value can thus be sent exactly. The one in our example is 165 Nm (Figure 4). Blocking: Turn the knob clockwise until the stop is reached. (Figure 5). Fit the tool, e.g. socket key insert. Tighten evenly. The set torque is acoustically indicated by a clearly audible click. At high torques, the signals are louder then at low torques. When the set torque has been reached the wrench noticeably jolts. Tightening of aluminum wheels Wheel nuts should always be tightened with a torque wrench. If too tight, the wheel nut can cause the brake disk to distort or the wheel rim to distort or crack. This is particularly the case with aluminum rims. All car manufacturers specify particular tightening torques for the wheel nuts. Make sure you know what the torques for your vehicle are. Tips for long life Each torque wrench is lubricated prior to dispatch from the works. Move the mechanism a few times when the wrench has been left standing for a relatively long period so as to distribute grease prior to use. Do not use force to turn the handle when it is locked by the knob. Only wipe the torque wrench clean. Never dip it in cleaning fluid. When handled carefully, this torque wrench will give you many years of excellent service. Technical data: - Forged steel, nickel and chromium platted - long life - 1/2" spigot - Scale divisions in Nm and mkg - Handle with roughened surface = non -s lip - Scale divisions - Handle with scale ring - Knob - Large torque3 range form 42 - 210 Nm = 4.3 -21.4 mkg - Maximum permissible deviation from set value (4%) is maintained. Gs safety tested. For all bolted connections in which the bolts require a defined tightening torque, e.g. fitting aluminum wheel rims, cylinder head bolts on motor vehicle engines.
